Writing Task creating Government Job Profiles for Separation of Powers
You will write three creative job profiles as if you are creating a career guide for students interested in how the Australian government works. Each profile will describe the responsibilities, powers, and limitations of one of the following:
The Legislature
The Executive
The Judiciary
Instructions
Step 1: Understand the Roles
For each of the roles above, you need to write a job advertisement. To do this, you will need to understand what each arm of government does and what powers it has.
Step 2: Write Your Job Profiles
For each of these three government bodies, write a short “job listing” that includes:
Job Title
Who Can Apply
What Makes This Role Unique
Where Their Power Comes From
Who They Keep in Check
Who Checks Their Power
Step 3: Add a Creative Element (Optional)
Include a fun detail like:
A “day in the life” scenario
A sample job interview question
