The arrival of December signals another academic year coming to an end.

World Human Rights Day on Thursday 10th December is an opportunity to share with your students the importance of human rights and why they must be preserved for all people across the world.

Imagine living in a society where the government, or ruling power did not support the rights and freedoms of the people. There are still many places in the world today where citizens struggle to live in a society which does not recognise basic rights.

Here in Australia, our system of governance is built on principles that support all human rights for its citizens.
